Come now and let us reason together says the LORD. . .

When Jeremiah spoke these words for the LORD God, he knew that they would usher in a new relationship between Israel and God. But, it's hard to imagine that he could have anticipated Pentecost or the church age. In this age, we have individual responsibility to know God's words and apply them. The Spirit has become our teacher.

Consider Jesus' words of encouragement to the Apostles . . .

When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. (John 15:26, NIV)

We often believe that Bible study, especially for adults, is one of life's electives. Yet, the Spirit leads us into an acceptance of God's gift by his testamony. When we believe, the Spirit prepares us to be witnesses. How can Bible study be an elective? Why do we neglect it?

Join us, as we travel life's highway
. . . as we explore God's counsel . . . as we witness to his love and purpose.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
(Matthew 5:16)
